Frequently Asked Questions - Retail Innovation Conference & Expo

Frequently Asked Questions

We know, we know…there have been some brand changes over the past few years, so let us clear up any confusion. RetailX (which formerly included GlobalShop, IRCE, RFID Journal Live and Retail TouchPoints Live) was the name of our event from 2019-2021, however, as of 2022, RICE (Retail Innovation Conference & Expo) is the single banner event produced by Retail TouchPoints and is here to stay. Learn more about RICE here.

While we had the best intentions of creating highly tailored programming for different personas, we learned from our attendees that having the IRCE, Design:Retail and Retail Innovation Summit micro-conference model created more confusion than ease. That is why we’re moving forward with our single banner conference brand, The Retail Innovation Conference & Expo, and three topical agenda tracks: Content, Community and Commerce.

The general event will take place June 4 through June 6. On  June 4, All-Access Pass holders and speakers have access to Workshops, Roundtables, and exclusive receptions. On  June 5 and June 6, our conference sessions, keynotes and Expo Hall will take place. Be sure to check out the different pass-types we’re offering!

We have flexible pricing based on whether you want to access all sessions, one day of the event, one specific conference track, or just the Expo Hall. Learn more on our registration page!

Right now, we’re offering our passes at the Introductory Rate, so you can get your All-Access pass for $995 (note: prices will increase on February 2, 2024). We’re also offering a Daily All-Access Pass for $695, a $100 discount if you can only attend one specific day of the event.

We have three main attendee pass types: All-Access pass, Conference pass, and Expo Hall pass. That’s right, we’re bringing back our Conference Track Passes this year! The Conference passes get you access to all session within one Track of your choice. Your three Tracks to choose from are Content (marketing/advertising), Community (in-store experience, next-gen loyalty tactics, customer engagement) and Commerce (retail media, in-store tech, loss prevention, payments, marketplaces). To view more information on what each pass includes, visit our registration page.

The Expo will take place in the West Hall of McCormick Place. You can expect NEXT Stage sessions, which will feature innovative companies, experiential activations to interact with the latest technologies and matchmaking opportunities to expand your network!  Learn more here.

The conference is streamlined into three topical agenda tracks – Content, Community and Commerce – to give you the quality time and focus needed to soak in the key learnings. We also have a new addition to the programming: C-Suite Panel sessions featuring a variety of retail leaders discussing high-level trends. Although we’re sure analysts, strategists and tech vendors will get value out of the content, we are dedicated to empowering our practitioner attendees to get inspired and learn from each other.

Our goal is to bring together innovative thinkers and executives that are bringing content, community and commerce to the next level. That’s why we have speakers and attendees representing the perfect mix of forward-thinking omnichannel retailers, disruptive DTC and CPG brands, and the most innovative commerce platforms.
